Julia Horscroft - The Flower Arranger magazine Officer
Flower Arranging was in my blood: helping my father with his entries for the local village show. I enrolled in a “proper” flower club and the rest is almost history. Progressing through committee I was introduced to Area Council meetings. I was cajoled into joining their Executive and became Area Chairman. Wishing to stay involved and continue meeting friends made, I “volunteered” to be AFAO which I still do today.
FLOWER ARRANGER MAGAZINE
The Flower Arranger is the superb full colour quarterly magazine of The National Association
of Flower Arrangement Societies.
Learn how to arrange flowers with step-by-step instructions and enhance your home with beautiful
floral designs. Enjoy up-to-date news and views on ever changing trends
The current crisis means getting the magazine to you is a bit more of a challenge. Please bear with the situation, your Flower Arranger Officer will try to make arrangements to get it to you when it is safe to do so. In the meantime highlights from the magazine will appear on Social Media, @flowermag on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
Jenny Dellow - Publications Officer
Now things are returning to a more normal way of life perhaps it is time for all you Program Secretaries to check your stock of Blue Forms you will need them when you start booking demonstrators for your club, I have plenty in stock.
Need an idea for a club workshop how about using one of the NAFAS booklets on leaf manipulation I have both 1 and 2 and having used them myself for an afternoon meeting great fun was had by all with some remarkable achievements.
If that doesn’t appeal what about the booklet entitled Twist and Turns illustrating how to use decorative wires, felt, wool and sticks. We see these techniques used in arrangements but don’t know how to achieve them our selves this booklet could be the answer.
I have other booklets and leaflets in stock on other subjects if you would like a list please email me.
